They look like the type of zombies that were in I Am Legend, as opposed to the slow moving type from The Walking Dead.

Definitely freaky

at least I Am Legend zombies were restricted to nighttime and you could injure them with bright lights.

There's a book club? I'd be in for that with WWZ. I think my wife has a copy laying around (she read it last summer).

I love how the zombies seemed to work together to form a living ladder and how they seemed to "surge" through that alleyway.

Now if the zombie apocalypse were real...

I hate how the zombies seemed to work together to form a living ladder and how they seemed to "surge" through that alleyway.

I read the book a while ago, when it first came out in paperback (I'm not sure that it ever came out in hardback). From what I have heard, the book and the movie are very different. I guess the reports coming out about this movie have been mixed--it was being called a disaster a few months ago and people wondered if it would ever be released. I have heard that the script has been re-written multiples times in fundamental ways. Hopefully they pull it together and make an awesome movie.

I heard the book is more or less interviews with survivors all over the world. It touches on there perception of the events. That didn't seem possible in a movie. Is that right?

That's correct. It's all being told from the post-war perspective. I think it could be done in a movie, but it would have to look like a faux documentary.

The book is also hilarious in a very dry way. I'm not getting that vibe from the trailer.

I agree with Vader Dave.

The book was meant to highlight the effects of this war from a Global and Individual perspective.

From the initial signs/outbreaks to the defeat of the plague itself.

In my opinion, the book was good because the stories were interconnected and the effects of one chapter could be felt in a different chapter by a different character from a different continent hence the title "World War Z".

I suppose the business of Holly Wood, insisted that they had a leading man, and turned it into an action movie.

Regardless, I have faith that this movie will be watchable.
