Boo Hoo for you and all the lazy bums that want the govt to do everything for them and give them everything for free. We are screwed because Obama won. The US will become another Europe with little growth and ever increasing debt.

Politicians thinking one step ahead only to be b*tch slapped by the smarter businessmen who can think 3 ahead.
No one mandated that Papa John's CEO waste millions on political donations and free pizza giveaways. Business owners constantly face challenges. Apparently this CEO was either too stupid to plan ahead or placed all his eggs into one basket.

In the GOP leadership is starting to fall in line.

Yeah you're right. The CEO, who grew this company from a project with a budget of $2,500 is just "too stupid"

And those "giveaways" are what we, in the business world, call marketing efforts. Companies do stuff like this ALL THE TIME because of the anticipated ROI.

I wonder what's better marketing:

1. "We'll increase the price of pizza by a barely noticeable amount, but in return we'll provide our employees with healthcare. Yay, healthy employees, happy customers!"

2. "The president is making us spend money, so we'll pass it on to you and look for every way to get out of providing our employees with healthcare. Hurr, durr!"

I was hoping it was obvious enough that it wouldn't have to be said.

He should be sending Obama a thank you letter. Papa John's stock has soared under the Obama administration instead of complaining about healthcare reform that benefits his employees.

Plus he's not exactly the best when it comes to marketing. There is a class action lawsuit against Papa John's for $250 million because of spamming.

But since you're in the "business world" you probably already knew that.

Do you understand that, even in a crappy economy, it's possible for a company to succeed? Tiger Woods can still shoot par in 40 MPH wind... but that's not a result of easy conditions.

This attitude is exactly why you are NOT rich.

Actually no. He's doing just fine. He is adjusting his business to continue staying profitable and his shareholders are also happy. The people that get hurt are the low level employees. Maybe Obama was too stupid to see 3 steps ahead? Yea, thought so.

Contrary to your belief there are a lot of business owners ("the rich guys") who are not in it to get rich but rather to express their ideas and goals, ensure the business runs well, and offer people jobs while seeing to it that their employees are their most vital assets and keeping them content.

Friend of the family works for this company...donate money to Obama, then lay off employees...instead of not donating the money to Obama and keeping the employees.

According to FOX News that's impossible under an Obama administration. And what does the greatest golfer of all time have to do with this thread?
