Terrible Noob Moment..

So, I bought my car with a nasty dent that cracked the paint directly under the left tail light. I figure it will need replacing so I've been on the hunt for this item.

Here is my problem. I can't find the part number or even the existence of this panel in any catalogs. I am dumbfounded

Please feel free to make me feel like a big dumb dummy and help me figure out what the p/n is for it. I have identified the section below with Gucci print for clarification. I have also added a license plate descriptive of my recent endeavor to locate this part. Thanks!

Funny, I was looking that exact image over for awhile but did not think one metal strip would protrude from the back of it. I've been looking for just the thin strip this entire time. Apparently replacing this will be a bit more intense labor wise than I had anticipated..

I appreciate the clarification, sir.

The incident probably bent everything behind the bumper. Looks like the kind of damage body shops fix all the time, by straightening and filling rather than replacing.

My Jetta's C-pillar (one of the strongest parts of the roof) got bent in when a guy's head hit it as he ran across the street. The shop did a great job of making the damage undetectable.

I will upload a picture of the dent for some opinions. I was originally going to try the dry ice or duster can methods but it looks too severe for either.. the crack in the paint tells me it's basically out of my hands.

A body shop can fix that without replacing and save you some cash. The will either push it out from the inside or weld a stud onto it and use a pull hammer to bring it flush. It certainly with be close to the $400 for that part alone.
