Do you have a television in your room? Do you watch television in bed, use your laptop/smartphone in bed? When people start to develop problems sleeping, they are generally asked some of these questions. Being exposed to bright lights in your bedroom can affect your circadian rhythm. Although it's not full spectrum lighting, it's still super bright light right in your face while you're trying to fall asleep. Whether you eat or watch TV in bed, you're basically just pairing stimuli to bedtime.

Your bed should be used for sleeping, sex, and reading before bed. If you can't fall asleep after 20-30 minutes get out of bed. If you wake up feeling anxious, get out of bed.

I would taper off the melatonin, your body produces that naturally and should be used when traveling to fight jet lag. You don't need it.
This is spot on.

A little heads up, I used to workout at nights and it helped at times but I moved further away and been lacking to get back into it after some injuryies....i play cod to wind down and when I get to the bedroom I go on my phone to check out the forums and car stuff and proceed to pass out which I know isnt great but its worked for awhile....shot I even had to stay away from the dentist due to anxiety from just sitting in the car and feeling unconforable....i go to bed late but thats just cause I've. Been used to it but im working on it...i just need to handle and get over it...i dont take, melatoin but magnesium and the half of unisome...ive been a little sick and I took nyquil last night which knocks me out for at least 8 hours but after 2 hours I woke up with anxiety and started to listen to relaxing music and finally fell asleep.

First, OP, I'm not a professional, but since you chose Fanatics as your go-to place...I get to pretend...

I've found many times in my life that I when I get anxious about stuff, there's almost always something that I've needed to do but wasn't doing. Serious kind of stuff. This girl; that girl. This class, this line of work, etc.

I think you're wrestling with a decision...maybe. For me, on tough decisions, I'd just make one and live with it for a few days before 'implementing it'...testing it out in my mind only. Then, make the other decision and try it on for size too.

That, or you should probably not play adrenaline producing games to relax so much! I'm sure there's a substantial effect on your brain chemistry from playing too much cod.

Oh no doubt cod doesn't help but it did for the most part cause it didn't allow me to think too much, I've had a lot on my plate for awhile and now I got even more along with a career decision and minor health issues but its all excuses I've made for myself. Playing the victim isn't going to solve anything but I've been trying to find techniques to combat the anxiety isn't of just dealing with it...

Maybe you also need a hobby to take your mind off things and have nothing to be anxious about.
