Not sure about pullies but you can get a good start at www.bavauto.com for a CAI and Exhaust. Also for a 323/328 I recommend the Shark Injector (chip).

Exhaust 500-900 - CAI 220-500 - Shark 350 = Atleast $1,000 for the easy three perf mods.

You can make your car faster by buying a car that is fast to begin with.
I'm joking of course, but there is a lot of truth to that.
The 323/325 are not "fast" cars but they are certainly awesome handlers and have a great ride on long trips.

Short of forced induction, which can get really expensive and make maintenace extensive, you should either accept your 323 as it is which is a great handling automobile, or, sell it and take the mod money to buy a car that is truly fast. I wouldn't spend my money on trying to make my 325 fast as it would take way too much money to do that.

The things that have already been listed will serve to only give the impression that you've done mods for power or speed, but in reality the gains with be very very minor. Normally aspirated engines respond to mods that are designed for them such as better flowing headeers, higher compression pistons, freer flowing exhaust system, easier intake, etc...
That gets expensive but can be done.

Other than supercharging that thing it will never be all that fast. But then again I wouldn't consider the 330 all that fast. The ///Ms are the only really fast BMWs. Yes the 645 and the probably the 760 have some pretty good speed and 0-60 times but those cars are pusing the 100 grand price tag. So of the 3 series, I would really only consider the M3 to be a fast car. Although you can make a 330 pretty quick with a SC and other mods but once I do get my 330 back, I won't be spending money on engine mods. These cars are great handeling cars and so much fun to drive in the twisties!!

If I were you i would forgo the engine mods and do some suspension and visual things to your car. Make it look pimp as ice and out handle nearly everything you will come across.

My friend is in this same situation. He got a 323i and is kinda pissed it isnt a manual and he wishes he had more speed. Kind of a hard choice on what to do.

CAI and a nice set of sticky tires will make your car feel better. Not fast, but better.

Intake and chip

I also have a 323i and I recommend you getting an intake and a chip to start off with. Once I got these two you will notice a difference. I got my intake from bimmerblvd.com I bought the gruppe m replica intake and I love it.... Should of been my first mod. Once you install the intake and hit the gas you will love the sound!!!! And I bought my shark program from www.ecisbmw.com

Once you install these two mods you will fall in love with your car again...

I am in the process of buying a AA Exhaust.

Go with intake, pullies and AA software to try and feel a difference but u also need a 5spd that will make it much quicker because with auto, software makes a difference but not as much.

Trade in on 328I 5-speed. Price will be close to same as your 323I and only a couple of tenths slower than a 330I.
