Any idea what this cable is for?

Had to get under my dash today to hook up some wiring to my footwell light, when I pulled it open, found this lone cable just sitting there not plugged into anything. Looked around abit couldn't see where it plugged into it.
Anyone know where it goes?

Should plug into that green cyclinder. Should be the trigger wire for the Reverse distance beeper.

LOL... just as well you found it before you backed into something and blamed your reversing sensors for not telling you it was there...

ah that explains it, haven't had my reversing sensors on my car for a year, they must have unplugged them.

However, there are spare plugs not connected in all BWMs not doing anything. It depends on your car options sometimes!
