smg issuies i think

I have a 04 m3 with the smg. Today i started my car and the numbers was flashing and it was acting different. Anyone know what this might be. Its happened before but i dnt remember wat i did to get it to go back. Also how to i check my pump fluid on my smg. Anything i should know about maintnence on this thing
