My Ride: possibly getting 325
Possible X5 Purchase help.....

I know this is more for the cars instead of SUVs but I just need some help. My husband and I have owned a 3 series sedan before and loved it, had a few issues, and sold basically to free up a payment. It was a 2002. We are looking at an 02 BMW X5 that my father is able to get - he is a dealer and can get it from a dealer auction for 6000-6500. It has 128k miles, it is the 4.4 X5. Has really been babied it appears. Not one dent or ding. Really mint shape.

I know nothing about these so wanting some pros and cons of them. Major issues that I may run into, etc. Just any helpful info. Lastly - would you do this deal and thoughts?

That's not bad. The 4.4 (presumably M62) V8 is a gem. I would check the bottom and look for oily messes. If dry, that would be a good thing as these engines tend to leak. a lot. that can get pricey especially if you don't do the work yourself. other than that, it WILL need a new suspension. assuming struts/shocks, thrust arms, etc. Unless the previous owner maintained them. Just test drive it if you can. driving is believing. go with your instinct!
