My Ride: 6 speed BMW
My brothers Samsung TV did this

there was a manufacturing error at the plant in Korea or whatever

there is a gold connection on the TV motherboard you "cut" (chisel away), or it was a capacitor, I forget

it's a really easy fix to do yourself

Do they still have house call TV repairs? Or maybe the genius squad. Or geek squad. Whatever.
Though with such a vast array of information from the Internet you could probably diagnose and repair a problem yourself.

Last time I've seen a TV repairman was when my parents wanted this fixed, back in the day
