Speaker suggestions?
Hey guys, I have an 05 325xi, and was planning on replacing its current speakers. Ive been thinking of getting Kickers installed. What other brands do you guys recommend? I'll take any suggestions to consideration. Thanks!

They are so subjective and so many selections.
These are what I used for my 01 330i and happy with their performance. Front: http://dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_71 Rear: http://dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_581 In addition to good sound performance, I chose them because: 1. they are low profile (2.5" install height) and compact so I can install 6.5" size speakers instead of 5.25". 2. 3 way components with decent cross overs 3. Only 3 way components with good size mid (2.5") that is super low profile (1" height) that I can mount on the existing door trim speaker location. You need to modify quite a bit to install them though.

And you installed them yourself? You bought them off that same site?

Being a proud DIY guy, I installed them myself.
It took me a long time to complete the system to the point that my wife got mad at me. I got them from Mobile Soundworks at its Ebay store in May 2011 ($450 for UP36i and $320 for UP6i).

Before I totaled my car, I got some Focal speakers. I figure since a lot of bimmer users put them in and Focal makes monitor speakers that I couldn't go wrong.

What do you guys think of Infinity Speakers? Ive personally heard them on my mother's 2010 Jeep Patriot, and they are probably the best speakers Ive heard with great bass.

Nope. Don't think I have one. Only other speakers I've had were JBLs. I like the Focal because they are balanced and clean sound.

I have also been considering the Kicker 6.5 4ohm speakers. They say they are low profile so thinking they work work at least in the back deck. My main concern is power, weather the stock system can push them properly.

What kind of sound do you like? Do you like to be able to crank without fatigue, or do you like to hear all the details of the music (and the some) at lower volume? At your presumably not sky-high budget that is the trade off you face.
What's your overall budget? Will you buy an aftermarket amplifier or subwoofer later? All these things can help us make a more valid recommendation. I wouldn't just do rear speakers.

Yea pretty much. I like to crank it, but detest when the speakers have that bad rumble. For example, my mothers 2010jeep patriot i believe has factory Infinity Speakers, which i personally find amazing! i just might look into those. Id consider buying an amp if it allowd for a greater bass kick. Dont really have a budget, but i wouldnt want to spend more than 300 total?

I have alpine spx-177a 6-1/2 speakers and its a component system powered with an alpine mrv-f307. I love these speakers and im a big fan of alpine to begin with. Like the comments above focal is very good, jbl, JL, boston acoustics, or hifonics. Im not to sure about kicker speakers because i havent heard that much about them so i couldnt really help you but im sure they would be ok you just need to find the right size to fit.
