If you are in a Cogent lit building, you can get 100mb for $1000 a month.
You might be able to get Abovenet for about $1300 for a 100mb.

These are business class, connections with 99.9% uptime SLA etc..

If you are in a Major Metropolitan area that is...

Find a Telecom Master Agent in your area and they will get you quotes

I build 10G waves all through the midwest, so I'm sure the NY has many options. You are only limited on how much you are willing to pay.

mine from a couple months back, i've since downgraded a bit but still pretty incredible... granted it's not 300 down but it beats 30 up by a sizeable margin

Edit: This was very reasonably priced too (I think around $100?), for the consistent speeds i was getting

Price very well, compare to my unstable 22mb.

How and where would you find companies with these types of lines?

You are confusing MB/sec with Mb/sec. That 300 MB/sec down equals to 2400 Mb/sec. That 30 MB/sec up equals to 240 Mb/sec.

Even 1Gbps consumer grade NIC's start failing out north of about 400Mbps.

I tested this in my lab with iperf last year.

REAL testers are used for these kinds of speeds.

I think I have like 20/5 at home. It's plenty.

The only reason I couldn't go faster was due to the fact that my HDDs could not read fast enough.

I hope you know the difference between gigabit and megabit. Explaining this to people made my brain hurt. Probably because so many people think they're an authority on everything.

Only a select few areas in Kansas City, Kansas right now. It will be spreading to more areas in town in the future. My house will probably be hooked up right as I'm moving out.

The installation of google fiber hasn't actually been completed anywhere. But it looks like my school will be getting hooked up next spring. Thank god for that.

LTE can get uncomfortably close to those speeds.

I got 62.9Mbps down the other day and I know I'm not the fastest.
