And yea, they'll probably find a way to raise your premium

I do believe you'll need a police report for each incident for it to count as uninsured motorist in Maryland, though.
Oh ok yeah I must call the insurance and make sure about it, thanks thou

no, they won't. Uninsured motorist is a non-fault loss in Maryland. Don't listen to people who have zero clue what they're talking about.

No, they won't if he is with a good company. You are not at fault in any way, thus your statistical risk has not changed. But I can't guarantee it. I never reported my parking lot damage on my Jeep.

I have a $1000 collision deductable, so I will be out $1000 for an uninsured motorist. Are you sure you don't have a $100 comprehensive deductable? That would seem more reasonable. I got $250, but I may lower it so it can buy a new windshield. I'm getting lots of rocks on the interstate some days.

check with your insurance company. I don't know alabama law, but your state may have a reduced deductible for uninsured motorist protection. If it's available in your state.

IIRC Virginia UPD is $200 deductible, MD and DC are $250.

And remember, whether your company offers uninsured motorist protection, and how that coverage is counted towards your premiums, is based on the laws of your state, not on the whims of your insurance company.

Got a problem with how it's dealt with? Contact your state representatives. Those are the people who write your insurance policy.

I think I discussed this with my agent. I was a bit nervous about uninsured drivers around some parts of this state. I'm sure this area has more than most parts of the country. I think he said I pay my collision deductable. I'll take the risk since halving my collision deductable will cost me more than the $500 difference in a year or two anyway.
