OEM iPod interface review?

I am looking for one but I cant find it. Anyone got this installed that can tell me a little about it? I just bought one on ebay and didnt install it yet.

search here, specdock or ipod dock. I have the Dice module with iPod dock. It's placed in the ashtray so it looks oem.

I think they suck. It locks your iPod and you can only use playlists. I prefer the aux input because you can use any device to pick music. If you want charging capability and the ability to use the iPod to pick music, then get the Dice.

I agree with you. I also have aux input with the dice module. When I want to listen to a specific song or artist, I use that instead of the dock. I use the dock because I can change the song/artist/playlist through the steering wheel controls and it's safer when driving

hmmmm ill give it a shot, if i dont like it...ill let it go for cheap and get the aux cable

It's terrible, you don't want it, trust me. Best solution (IMHO) for E46's is the USA*Spec unit. Does what it's supposed to, stellar sound quality, doesn't lock up and require power down resets like the Dice crapola. Extremely happy with mine (though the DSP model that I have in the M Coupe sounds like ass, due to some analog-to-digital conversion that takes place in the BMW amp).
