How much does a beer cost at your local bar?
A lot sure has changed in the past 10 years. A few days ago went to the bar and a Corona costs $6.50. I was staggered. My friend actually said that that's considered average and some places charge even more.
How is it where you're at? |

It really depends on what type of bar you go to. I went to a local bar and a a Corona was $4. Go downtown and its $4-6. But I prefer something on tap.. something off the IPA list. Easily spend $4 and up.
Nothing really has changed. Its just more is available. Location dictates pricing. I know here in VA, if you sell alcohol at a restaurant/bar ... your total Food sells have to be $2k per month. Most people don't eat food at a bar. So this is why some bars will charge more for beer.

Depends what beer, and who drinks Corona... especially at a bar
bars advertise $2 PBR... but PBR is Past Blue Ribbon, so I'll pass I would say about $5~ a beer, give or take $1.50 depending on what it is and if it's a glass, bottle, or can now, this sounds douchy, but I try not to drink at bars where I don't know the bartenders / manager personally - because I like to drink for free. I'm sure some bartenders will look at this and get mad and think it's not possible.

TN here and the bar I like to frequent for sports and bar food does $3.75 34oz. Yuengling that I get. However, the nicer bar where I go grab a drink drink, take casual dates, buffalo calamari *drool* is about $4-5 for a 16 oz. I stay with gin and tonics there though.

Guiness or New Castle---3-6 Bucks

On average, $3-$6 for a pint.
When I was in Blacksburg, it was much cheaper than that. Same with Knoxville, TN. |

3-6 for domestic regular prices(happy hour 1-3)
4-8 for imports and fancy microbrew's The golf course I live on has $1 yuengling, amberbock, miller light pints all day. I like to get a bunch of people together and take that place over a weekend night. I tend to go where its cheaper or hit up a place with a happy hour till 9 Last edited by MrWesson; 11-15-2012 at 06:45 AM. |

$4 - $7 for a decent draw - Sam Adams up to Guiness, including "imports and microbrews".
On the cheap side, I have status at a local brew pub for $2 20oz of their beer Sun - Thurs. I spend a lot of time and money there - my meal may be $25, but the three beers for $6 still make it a cheap night. Edit; anyone seen the Bell's Java Stout back on tap yet? I haven't had any yet this year... Last edited by Show me; 11-15-2012 at 07:30 AM. |
