Actually, that's the full retail price + $1. The company that makes them is here:

actually its not. its 499 for the job to do it. as per web site "*Customer must provide thier factory mirror. V1 components sold separately." so you have to buy : V1 Radar Locator, V1 Power Adapter, V1 Concealed Display, V1 Remote Audio Adapter. Send all that with your rear view, then pay 499

ok so after like 4 edits, i read the faq and you still need the v1 unit. whats integrated is the concealed display. if everything is included then its a great deal, but if its JUST for the mirror, you're only saving the cost of the concealed display + 499 labor cost for them to integrate..

I have the M3 style mirror, without the etching. It's awesome to be able to watch the v1 alerts from the corner of your eye while driving.

I stand corrected, Hokie; so much for me being a reliable source...

That being said, it seems to me that if all he's selling is the mirror, then what you save is the cost of the mirror and hidden display (I think about $400 retail for the two). He's asking the labor cost alone.

I looked more closely at the site. To buy the mirror with integrated remote display is $799 new. So he's offering it at 62.5% of retail. Not a bad deal, if it's newer.

yea the complete kit with the v1, jammers and this mirror and the volume knob i ordered throughvalentine and the full install was close to i think about 2000$. I still use the valentine and jammers in my s5 and just have it mounted on my windshield since this mirror dont fit in the s5..but i heard they dont even make these anymore for the e46 mirror with the alarm sensor and garage door buttons etc.. if anyone that has a v1 is interested please let me know or make an offer.. this is literally in PERFECT CONDITION and hardly used..so id rather you have a nice electronic upgrade then this sit on my shelf with no use..
