Blame Michelle.

If it weren't for her stupid garden, pushups on tv, and push for this utopian idea of a healthy 'murica, people would have supported hostess by buying more of their delicious confections.

They'll get a bailout though, right? I mean we can't possibly let sugarland go bankrupt. Then BHO can say he saved the confectionery industry.....like detroit.

The president or CEO (can't remember which) did not get a bonus. Also a bunch of workers are getting a bonus too.

The bonus is for helping the company during it'd transition process to transfer to the new buyer.

The judge also agreed to the bonus and said it was a good idea.

Sorry, I don't find rewarding a company in trouble with bonuses the right thing to do.

That's just it though...

To me, a bonus implies rewarding people for good work, and should only be deserved as such. Awarding bonuses for a company that's in trouble is celebrating mediocrity and failure - in my opinion. Perhaps it's a misnomer, and they should call it something else, like a "transition stipend"

NEW YORK (AP) — Hostess is betting on a sweet comeback for Twinkies when they return to shelves next month. The company that went bankrupt after an acrimonious fight with its unionized workers last year is back up and running under new owners and a leaner structure. It says it plans to have Twinkies and other snack cakes back on shelves starting July 15.

Leaner structure? Did they kick those lazy union asshats and make pay based on something crazy like merit and performance?

I can't imagine that anyone thought that Hostess would just disappear forever. It's a valuable brand and has iconic products (even though they're mass-produced crap, really).

I must admit that I will be glad to see the return of Hostess Cupcakes. Those things are a guilty pleasure.
