Lair, you're better at inflammatory statements than this.
I hope those union guys can reopen Hostess and recreate those jobs.

Will be funny if that Mexican company buys them, moves production to Mexico, and triples the profit of the company by using market dictated labor.

You would think that's funny, wouldn't you?

If you hate this country and all that it stands for, why don't you move back to Mother Russia?

Because mother Russia ran on unions, and it didn't go so well for them.

Don't get butthurt Lair. We are now in an era where business is done globally on a large scale and sometimes it's better for a business to set up shop outside of this country due to strategic location, logistics, and of course reduced manufacturing/production costs.

And I stand by it. I hope unions collapse, companies that employ union labor go bust, and they can be rebuilt with a normal, non racketeering labor force. Unions have nothing to do with America, despite your feeble attempt to sell that bs story.

Yeah, I know. You're just here to do your part to tear down the American way of life. Once you've exploited this country and made enough cash, you're going to leave and go back to Russia with your loot.

Or was that the other America-hating Russian that I'm thinking about?

They agreed to cuts as well. But thanks for your interpretation of another event in time that has yet to take place.

Negotiations broke down again this morning and the lawyers representing Hostess have asked the judge to reopen the liquidation proceedings.

We need to abolish unions and enact legislation for term limits in this country for our elected officials. To all the people bitching about workers rights and all the good unions have done, have you forgotten that you are a somewhat advanced form of mold clinging to the side of a rock hurtling through space? Get over yourself.

Hostess was within their rights not to renew the union contract, fire everyone and hire new non-unionized employees. What term-limits have to do with the conversation is beyond me. Perhaps you can elaborate.

The fact of the matter is Hostess was mismanaged from the start and facilitated their own demise. At the end of the day the fault will always lie with the senior leadership and the decisions they make.

Term limits would help us get rid of worthless incumbent politicians. In California, we have two. Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein. Both of them should lose their jobs as they have done nothing to improve California. In fact, under their watch, this state's problems have become almost irreparable.

To address your comments regarding Hostess; while I am not privy to the organization's financials, there are numerous examples where union pressure exceeds the ability of the organization's leadership to deal with it. Boeing moved manufacturing operations to another state in an attempt to cope with union issues. Boeing haa a large enough cash pile to do this with. Hostess probably didn't.

The fact is, there are people willing to make twinkies for less money than what the union is demanding. Obviously there is still demand for twinkies, so as far as I am concerned, **** the union.

Get over yourself, for cryin out loud.

I don't like unions. But, they have as much right to exist as do corporations.
I'll type slow, because I doubt you can read very fast, given your moronic statements.
Unions don't exist for the good of the corporation. Nobody made Hostess management sign those deals. They did that of their own free will and stupidity. The mgmt made their bed, and they bleeped it up, and now the workers should be expected to bail their a$$ out. I'd tell 'em to "pi$$ off" as well.

Hostess management totally f**ked up and ran the company into the ground and signed bad/stupid labor contracts. But, its all the unions fault.

As the saying goes "C'mon, man!"

Exactly...I thought the same for GM and Chrysler.

When a company is on the brink of failure and corruption blame management in charge.
