Limp mode.

Hey guys I realy need some help with my car latest problem. I have 323ci 2000 model the car did 186k km. 3 month ago my car went to limp mode. I took it to a gearbox specialist they had a look at it and scanned it. I got code p0720 speed sensior problem. Then they tested and flushed the gearbox and they said nothing wrong with it the gearbox in good condition.
3 weeks later it did it again Nd went to limp mode, I have noticed it only does it at night when I have all the power running and when the car is just idleing but it never does it when I'm driving.
I did some research and I got the battery tested the reading was 12.3 v when idle. So I switched my thinking to the alternator, I had look at it and found still a geniun part and never be touched or replaced. So I changed it coz I was gonna do it sooner or later. 2 days after I changed it it did it again and went to limp mode. I'm thinking it could be the battery as I have had the same a battery for over 3 yrs.

Plz guys any suggestions??

So the car only goes to limp mode when I'm ideling at 600 rpms and all the power running. During the day it only does it when I have the aircon running and the radio.

Thanks guys any advice or suggestion will help
