09.03+ 325i Manual Transmission S5S 250G 22 tooth
this is a Getrag 250 trans from a september 03+ 325i/iC. under 50K miles on it. shifts like brand new. BMW wants over $3k for this transmission new.
this tranny is unique to the 04-05 model years (06 convertible) because of its 22 tooth input shaft which uses the same clutch as 90% of late model 6 speed BMWs instead of the 10 tooth which had been produced from 1991 till 2003. this is a rare transmission, clutch kits are available searching 2004 325i 22T will physically bolt to any M50 M52 S50 S52 M52TU M54 M56 N52 M42 M44 or M40 engine (may bolt to others as well.) asking $350. actual trans, 22T shaft. ![]() reference photo, identical to: Last edited by 2.5-12; 11-19-2012 at 09:55 AM. |

So if I had a 2002 5-speed 325ci build date 04/2002 this transmission would be a direct bolt on swap into my car except for me having to buy the correct 22T clutch and flywheel for it????

yes the trans is identical to the 2002 trans except for the input shaft.
buy the right clutch setup and you're golden. |

Okay let me do some research on this. My current tranny's input shaft bearing is slowly going out, but I just dropped a ton of cash on the UUC. E34 M5 clutch setup an single mass flywheel. not sure what to do at this point,: Fix or replace the tranny

Problem is just not in the same country. Might be too difficult to ship. First point of call is welding, then trying to source a used one locally first.
