Cooling fan issue
I decided to replace my thermostat this Saturday. Everything was fine until I got on the highway. The lower radiator hose shot off, probably because it didn't lock in tightly, and hell broke loose.
I immediately stopped the car and put everything back together. The car kept overheating so I figured I had a lot of air pockets in the cooling system. Bled it a few times but the problem insisted so I took it to a shop. End of the day, the shop said the fan wasn't working. The mechanic said the resistor and relay most likely went bad. Anyone know where I can pick up another fan assembly on the spot? I pretty much want the parts asap. I don't want to have to wait for shipping. |

Call around to local dealers. If they have it give them your CCA discount (hopefully you have it). It'll save you some money.

Turner or Bavarian or the dealer.
Yes, your car overheated because there was air in the system. Also, do you have a manual transmission? There are ways to test the fan to make sure the fan is shot rather than rely on the mechanic saying its shot.
