My Ride: 04 325i
DISA/Rough idle

now that the temp has dropped in jersey my car rattles like crazy and gets a rough idle it did this in summer also but did not rattle as bad in the car ive tried everything to find the issue next is my DISA are these signs of it failing? help me out guys

Suggest you read the first link below in my signature.

Get codes read if you have a CEL.

Also keep in mind belt tensioner and idler can also be noisy.

thanks no service engine light but it did have p0171 and p0174 not to long ago thats why im suspecting its disa

Lower CCV oil return hose and fuel pressure regulator hose along with all SAP vacuum lines are prime suspects as well.

My Ride: 2004 330Ci OBM
My DISA was rattling by 68K miles. I took it out yesterday and snapped the flap off to make it stop. Put it back in and the engine doesn't rattle any more. I picked up a new DISA from my BMW dealer today and I'll put it in tomorrow. I think I'll also buy the German Auto Solutions aluminum upgrade. Anyway, the DISA takes 10 minutes to check.

remove intake air box
remove MAF sensor
use a T40 torx to remove the 2 DISA screws.

done

yea im gonna take it out this week jsut hoping its that did your whole interior rattle? gets really annoying when cold
