dmax stand up--Friday after T-giving--11/23

I haven't given up yet, folks, though I know you think I should...but this time, I'm ready...it's more than a week ahead and I actually know what I'm going to do!

The Friday after Thanksgiving, I'll be performing at:

Scotty's Steak House & The Comedy Cove
595 Morris Avenue
Springfield, New Jersey

Friday, November 23, 8 p.m.

Reservations: 973-376-3840

Admission is $7, $5 with reservation; 2 drink minimum, but they're not terribly strict about this.

There will always be a mix of good and bad...some 'virgins' and some experienced comics. Laughing is virtually guaranteed!

Free parking...easy access from Rt. 78, 22, GSP, NJT...and they do have a restaurant you can order from and the food is good.

Okay, I might not be funny, but I'll make you laugh somehow...I'm ready!

I know, horrible timing for many, but hope you can make it anyway!

Have a weird car issue? Catch me after the show and I'd be glad to discuss it with you live...I know stuff...not everything, but a lot!

Thank you, sladha! So, will I be looking under your hood after my show? I'll make sure I have batteries in my xl50!

So, anyone coming? I like to be able to give them an idea of numbers so they can plan accordingly for wait staff and the like...and you also get a discount on admission.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you eat too much and need to laugh it off the night after! lol

Maybe one of the local Staten Island fanatics can be convinced to see comedy in the far off land of NJ and pick you up on the way!

This is nearly my final offer, folks. Come this Friday night and participate in my free-style 5-7 mins.--you pick the comedy topics.

Just curious...if you attended, what would you yell out if I asked you 'what do you want me to be funny about?'

You know, seeing total destruction can be entertaining too!

Don't be funny. Be unequivocally HILARIOUS.

Happy Thanksgiving, NJ/NY/CT folks...and a Thanksgiving bump for me.

This is the day you ask yourself, who has added value to my life, who has helped me when others haven't, who would take their time to help a totally random person fix their car over the internet, who always has the time to say something totally pointless and sometimes funny.

...and then, "what can I do to repay such total generosity of spirit?"

Oh sure, you could send me money, but I'd prefer you just come and enjoy some comedy, have a couple of drinks, and lie to me about how unequivocally hilarious I might have been if I'd actually used actual humor.

I know, Eugene...I hope you get good news too, but I'm afraid I don't think you will.

Anyway, my final bump for me.

Maybe there's one fanatic out there that can be guilted into showing support for another...even if it's me!

I've got a PS reservoir gasket just waiting for the first fanatic who shows! Will it be you?

Thank you, cityjohn!

Last night was sort of a bust. There was a new person managing the show who didn't know and love me...and I lost some 'bringers' so only got 2 mins...so just did my 'how to shave your legs with burning gasoline' story. Also, I opened the show, so no one was drunk enough to appreciate me so much!

Anyway, I did what was called 'blowing the light.' There's a red flashing light indicating my time is up one minute before my time is up, and I saw it, went on, but then was chastised afterwards for doing 3:15 instead of 2:00.

But, I did get an invite to get time at a local pub that has a comedy night...and also another in South Jersey...so all in all it was a good night for me, if not for those who listened to my 3 mins!

I really need to shorten up lots of my stories...some of these places are so tight about time, I need to be able to close at the end of a joke...not in the middle of one.

But you live in Houston? What? I'm not worth the trip to see me for 2-5 mins? You suck, man! LOL

So, NJ people, in case anyone is still there...any of you around New Brunswick? I might do a show there this Tuesday night.

Then, on Thursdays, there's an open Mike at McGlynn's Tavern in Springfield NJ on Morris Ave. I think I'm going to do that too, a week from this coming Thursday. There's no admission to it...it's just a Tavern.
