hello. im having an e46 318i 2000 model. it starts just perfectly.the problem is that ; the idling is bad, as it idles i can see the rev count moving up and down around 500 and 1000. i bought a new starter,a new coil, a new set of HT cable.i bought a new pick up sensor.
as i try to press the accelerator, the revs take too long to pick up....so please. |

I had the same issue with my E90, turned out to be one bad coil. Are you sure you replaced the bad coil? Did you run it through a error code reader yet?

thanx Sd ,i took it for code error reading but nothing was found.since it a 318 it has only one coil and i even took the coil to a coulegue who is using a 318 for testing and it just started his car and the idling was just right and tht suggested that the coil was just good.

Dirty ICV (Idle Control Valve) maybe?
I had it on my M54, they cleaned it and all was good again!
