05 325xi

Hello

I just joined so Hello ! I have a 05 325XI automatic with 34k on the odometer.
I haven't done too much to the vehicle (DIY'er), new drive belts, flushed the coolant, cleaned the spark plugs ( anti-seeze) on the threads etc., installed audio jack for the IPod.
The independent garage that sold me the car changed the oil, did the front & rear brakes.
soooooooooo far no problems etc,the other car Z3 is taking it's winter nap til spring.

Change the oil again with the right stuff. Chances are, the right stuff isn't in there.

Good point, but it all depends on the shop. Since he has a Z3, he could be taking it to BMW focused independent shop, which may be filling it with the right stuff. But it's worth asking, and it still may be better to replace it with BMW oil from the dealership. I have to admit, when I first bought the oil from the dealer, I was pleasantly shocked that the cost was practically the same as I would expect from some auto parts store.

Have a similar 2005 330xi in the same color, but with over 104K. It drives like it just rolled off the line. Hope yours will, too.

Take care of the car, and it will take care of you. Especially in snowy Massachusetts. (I'm in PA, so same diff.)

I would change it anyways as well. You never know for sure what's in there unless you absolutely trust the place. Even then, I would still change it but thats me.
