BMW Business CD Volume HELP

Ive been looking all over on here and there's no DIY for me, my radio knob wont adjust the volume correctly, i'm sure the people who have this problem know what i mean. Closest forum i found addressing this issue was this one: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=645059
But that's for the head unit not turning off. right now im just using my steering wheels controls to adjust but when my gf comes in the car (or anyone for that matter) they'll try to turn the music down to talk or something and it always ends up going lower even when you turn it down. any DIY's some one could make on how to fix this issue? theirs a ebay repair service i say that costs $70 so i know theirs some kinda DIY on the down low so were forced to pay that price! thanks

In for answers. My headunit will turn the volume up or stay the same if I try to turn it down too fast. I have to turn it down kinda slowly.

This.

You just need to adjust it slowly, not spin it as fast as you can.

If yours is broken completely, try pulling it off and taking a look, maybe it was just spinning itself and a simple re-glue will sort it out.

If you pull your volume knob, there supposedly is a tiny nut behind it that loosens up. This thread explains how someone fixed it by tightening the nut with a pair of needle nose pliers.

I have a similar problem with a loose knob that does not adjust volume correctly. I have not tried the fix yet...
