Trunk access
So every method of entering the trunk in my car has failed except with the physical use of turning the lock.
Question. Is the trunk button near the license plate tied to the same wiring from the wire loom headed to the front of the car? I'm trying to figure out if I have a wiring problem or electronic latch problem. Thanks! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Bimmer App |

You need to check out the wiring that is bundled near the trunk hinges. It may be obviously broken, but it could also be broken inside the insulation. Check fuses first.

For what it's worth, the latch sounded like a toy with dying batteries before it failed completely. It began to get weaker and weaker.

Bought a used one from ebay for about $26 shipped. It was very easy to change and no more issues |

Maybe the latch solenoid broke.
