Seat belt will not retract!

So I went to pick my car up at the dealer & the drivers seat belt won't retract.
I bought the car on Sept 16, the next morning I went to use the sun roof & it sounded like a machine gun going off over my head.

The dealer replaced it w a used unit.

Anyone having troubles w the above mentioned items? I did check all the other windows, A/C works. Even the service manager said that it's a clean car. I'm sort of shocked. Seats, steering wheel, pedals, all seem to have no wear! Fluke maybe? What should I look out for next?

Wow, my 2002 had visbably worn seats and steering wheel with 94K, was it in an accident and those parts were replaced?

Count your blessings I guess.

A seatbelt mechanism is pretty simple, either something is jammed in the reel or the spring / assembly broke and you will need a replacement

I'm glad it happened when I was in the dealer lot, they're replacing that as well!

So where do you all get your used parts, locally or online?

Thanks,
Dave

Blessings counted!

I usually just get new parts. Used parts now are getting so old that it's almost not worth the gamble unless it's a mirror or something like that.

I've heard of the sunshade sliders in the car cracking and breaking over time because they are made of plastic and the sun overtime makes them brittle. Although I can't say for sure that this is the problem you are having but can't hurt to check it out. Hope you get everything settled!

No they don't. When the warranty is up its up.
