SES light on, no codes stored on ecu???

Ok, so I cleaned my MAF and got my car running better, then I cleared trouble codes but the SES light stays on. I tried reading it again but the ecu still showed as clear with my scanner. Could it be a code that only a special scanner like a dealer would have could see, and my normal OBD2 scanner just doesn't recognize it as a trouble code?

How much does a dealer normally charge to scan the car?

Do you also have a round 20 pin connector under the hood?

Make sure you use the round connector if this is what you have.

You may have manufacturer specific codes that a generic tool will not read?

I am sure you can find a cheap Windows XP machine if you need to install PA Soft, or get another hard drive for your machine and load Windows XP on it??

I might have to pick up an old xp machine just to scan with, but that might take some time. How much should I expect to pay if I take it to a stealership to have the code read? Kinda want to try and get it taken care of tomorrow if I can.

I often get coupons in the mail for a free diagnostic scan from the dealer - they want to get the car in the door to pick up business. You may be able to see if your local dealer has something similar going on.
