FTDI driver update......... BLUE SCREEN

I've been having some trouble getting my bmw scanner to work on my Windows7 laptop (premium 64-bit). I did the FTDI driver update method, just now and ended up getting a BLUE SCREEN afterwards. WTF does one do now?

I'm not familiar with the Virtual machine approach to running the program. I KNOW I'm not a REE-REE. where did i go wrong. I search a couple times well for posts that would help further but to no avail.

I know its a busy weekend but: Where's the experienced guru's and the fellas with 10k+ posts @? Need your input....I'd love for some body to chime in on this one......The purple letter gang I call them. The e46 Yoda's!
