Any updates on this? Surely it must be running and in the owner's hands by now. Any issues with components used or tuning difficulties? Thanks for sharing the last 6 pages of the build with the community. I'm inspired.

indeed, 4 month should be enough to see how the transmission is going.

Yes the car was completed a few months ago. The Level 10 tranny lasted about 1,100 miles and lost 4th and 5th gear. The transmission is currently at a local trans shop getting torn down to see what failed and whether it can be built properly to hold the power or if we will just see the same failures again. If it can be rebuilt it will return, if not the car will be getting swapped to manual.

Here's the dyno results: 8psi, 12psi, and 16psi

Too bad about the trans. I'm looking forward to hearing their verdict on whether it can be built for that much power or not!

For $8,000 spent on the trans with Level 10 previously, I'd hope we would not be in this situation ...

Is Level 10 the company WHO did modify the trans?

When the car came to us the trans had already been built by Level10

Even to me, that sounds like a lot.

IPT charged me approximately $5k for cryo'd hubs/splines, all new friction disks and seals, as well as valvebody mods and re-done TC.

This is just me, but if I were to have a failure, I'd buy another transmission for parts, and send the "failed" items out to be cryo treated, then to WPC.

If this transmission has a lock-up torque converter, that would be a major concern of mine. The TCU normally locks up the converter at vehicle speeds of 120 km/hr or above. If you shift from 3rd to 4th at WOT, I've found the TC to be locked on engagement which is quite a shock to the drivetrain.

The only way I can think of making these shifts easier on the drivetrain is to lock-out the lock-up function, and let the shifts sit on the converter. (As you experience from 1 - 2 normally.) At this time the only way I know how to facilitate that is with a stand-alone transmission controller.

Adam,

You may use Gear Cut Load Cell. This will trigger an ignition cut when the transmission shifts up. This will decrease the stress on drivetrain.

You may not cut ignition and still keep the drivetrain happy, as the shifts are so quick the drivetrain is not unloaded. Faster shifts make the drivetrain almost 100 % loaded.

To shift faster you need to play around line pressures.

You can also unlock converter at certain TPS, where even a slight throttle closing will unlock the converter. Lets say back off a little till the TPS reads % 75.
@ 75 TPS the converter unloks..... then WOT and converter locks.

If I can make my 330 transmission solid to hold 800-900 whp I will be happy as well Till that time I am working on other transmissions.

Bear in mind some transmissions dont like to shift from 1st to 2nd very fast, some dont like from 4th to 5th.....this depends on the transmission model and brand.
