i changed it with a dealer part still getting same code

My Ride: '99 328i 300K miles
New gas cap? Check into things above the panel in the right rear of car...three plastic rivets on it...you can look up into the evap system and see if anything is loose. Usually it's a reliable system...other than the gas cap...which eventually goes bad.
