I was going with most recent memory. When I initially got the car it was a bit intimidating/confusing. I got used to it very quickly, nothing broke in my years of ownership. The buttons were conveniently/ergonomically located. My right hand never had to leave the center console. I also enjoyed the minimalist looks of the E46

That doesn't make sense, and has no relation to what I said.

You are worthless.

Can I take this one?

WP bearings fail as soon, if not sooner than plastic impellars, so I have to replace mine every 60kish
Wait, what was the question?

Your username means:
e39 540i ......drool.

Do I win anything?

The only way I know of removing the fan clutch without using the special tool (which you can make yourself or rent for cheap) involves an off-spec wrench and some nasty hits with a hammer that can easily damage the waterpump bearing, but apparently I'm too inept to foresee problems like this

edit: then again he'll probably tell me I'm still inept because he can "do it with the fan on" while also not replacing (some of) the worn rollers which have a relative lifespan to the serpentine

brb being inept

Oh don't mind that, I have unbelievable delusions of grandeur , I spend a lot of time around some rich folks, what with the jets and all. I'm just an optimist and hope (dare I say, assume!) my projects will be paying off big when I finally get them under production.

My brother had a B7 A4 2.0T for five years, then traded it on a B8. Absolutely loves/d both - and has never had any issues with either. I wish my e46 was that reliable.

My next sedan is most likely going to be an A6 also- unless I can find a great deal on a 2-3 year old S8.

Absolutely. Audi S5 (2009 or 2010) 4.2 liter V8, 345 HP, AWD with drive logic, MMI and B&O stereo...

Black with red interior. I would sell my soul to satan for this car.

I'd hardly call using a long screwdriver to wedge the pulley and an adjustable wrench "ghetto rigging". Hell you could even use a regular 32 mm.

A local fanatic who has sold a couple cars on this site told me he preferred his (sold) E92 M3 to his current S5.

I would say no. After having my car 4 years and driven a couple Audi's (TT, a4, s4) I just like my car better. The Audi just looks kinda meh in comparison, and I just didn't get that feel (yes, all that feel) driving them that I get when I drive my car

Don't get me wrong, the newer BMWs are ugly, but all Audi cars look like they were specifically made to target women buyers, and all look the same. And this goes beyond family resemblance, they all have that high waistline that make them look heavy, same stupid front grill and headlights. Essentially barely any difference between the models. As far as engines go, the base models come with a shitty 2.0T motor, their 6cyls are nothing to write home about. And then there is the AWD system that they had to make, making the cars more costly, heavier and more thirst, all because the cars they are based on are FWD. This doesn't even mention the bland interiors (again, BMW isn't much better, but they aren't the leader) and shitty reliability and douchebag owners.
I'll take pretty much any car before I drive a VW/Audi. Serious.
