If you were ever in a real life situation.....

...that mirrored a similar situation that you observed in a horror flick, do you think that you'd reflect on, and take consideration of, what you had seen in movies previously? For example, if you were at a hotel in Budapest, and before nightfall a local townsman said to you, "Make sure that you're not out after dark. Strange things happen around here at night (...and he had that creepy 'there are monsters in these parts' look on his face)", would you listen to his warning? I always feel myself critiquing and criticizing the decisions that people make in horror movies, so I figured that it would be interesting to hear some opinions......

.....or maybe I'm just bored.

If I saw Jason down by the lake... I may pass on swimming. Other than that, I don't think so.

EDIT: Yes... You are bored!

Yes. I love the show despite it being a derivative of other story lines.

I don't make a habit of staying out late in strange cities anyway, so I'd probably take his advice.

I do spend a lot of time out in the woods camping and backpacking, so I figure if a crazy dude wants to off me and make a suit out of my flayed skin, that's where it's going to happen.

I love criticizing peoples decisions in slasher flicks! As for me, so long as it's not some paranormal, unstoppable bullet sponging murderer, I'd like to think I would be logical enough to get to safety...

Ughhh.... Wut? It would be the BEST time for swimming. Jason hated the water. Sit out there on a canoe and flick that dick off!

But seriously? I'd use a gun to shoot the bad guys. Too many times people are idiots in horror flicks. I think there's even a GIECO commerical about these rediculous scenes. See also "Scary Movie____"

Or run them over in a competently powered car "ie Jeepers Creepers" car chase scene at 50 mph.

Maybe, but I know I would be the idiot who fights back. If I get frightened/Surprised I get angry. Just give me something to punch in the face.

"Cabin in the Woods" has the best rational explanations for stupid horror movie idiots EVER. If you were ever a fan of the old splatter films like Friday the 13th, etc, CITW is a must watch. Goddamn, I loved every silly minute of that flick.

Agreed. The stoner guy was off-the-charts awesome. "Police will never pull over a guy driving while smoking a giant bong, because they know he sees more than they".

Was in Budapest last summer, and was out after the dark all the time. Beautiful city. Worst thing that happened was I ran into a snake. Much less menacing than being out after dark in Detroit or Moscow.
