You are right pretty much plan on paper, I have to send him the aluminum alloy I currently use and they will try to match its form. (Structure,rigidity, regulations rules)
But cost is around ***-****,but that is because of liability issues. **** for one trailer, if it works in real world applications and can be used.

My manufacturer is paying 50% of the costs. So if the wheel is going to be 1000, im getting it for 500. Im pretty much testing a new form of their product and whether or not it will last.

Oh and about the high end cars, do you consider a gallardo a high end car?

How are you going to test the wheel and who is doing the analysis? Are you sending a series of samples back to a lab with a qualified engineer?

Lmao, they have a shop which already makes mag wheels. What they dont make is wheels for tractor trailers, but are very similiar to what they do make. Heres where their knowledge comes in and i know very little compared to them. They want the wheels i already use, which i just sent them off couple hours ago. They will do all the wheel analysis and find out everything about that wheel, how it was made all the mechanics of lol A wheel.

What we both want to know is can it be used without being ass rapingly expensive. Will it last through different climates of North America? Thing is there is a maintenance aspect which is slightly higher than aluminum. Wheels have to be sprayed with a protectant for cautionary measures and longevity

Plus, its joint venture kind of deal, they will still check up after each trip. Lastly I got driver who is also a engineer.

So you're going to put an untested new wheel on a vehicle that is potentially 80,000+ lbs and traveling 70+mph down the highway?

I have been around big rigs my entire life and there is alot of force in play that you dont realize. Even quality, well maintained, and brand name wheels can come apart under certain circumstances and cause one hell of a mess. Any company that knows what is best for them will not sacrifice quality for a few bucks, even across a fleet.

I can see it now... Trailer's brakes overheat, one mag wheel catches fire, causes three others around it to also catch fire. Suddenly flaming truck rolling out of control down interstate.
