WTB: E36 or E46
So I'm looking for a beater/DD to take to school in St. Louis. I'll be returning to NJ on 12/18 and will be looking for cars then. I'd like to get a start on finding a few cars on the market right now.
General requirements: No accidents, no rust, manual transmission, good clutch, no convertibles E36: Has to be <$3k. E46: Has to be <$5k. If you show me an '02+ with lower mileage asking for more, I'd still be interested since it is a much newer car.

I'm in the same boat as you and had a very similar budget. I just picked up an E36.
Good luck my friend, don't give up as things do come up.

You will have a hard time finding a cheap e46. I know someone selling an e36. Pm'ed you

You're wasting time and money looking for bmws at that price point especially with criteria such as no accidents. Start looking at accords and you'll find something much better, more reliable and easier to fix.

I've got a few BMWs that I want to look at when I return to NJ. I'm also looking at some Infinitis, Civics and Corollas around $5k.
It is tough, but some gems do pop up on Craigslist from time to time.
