At first I though I went deaf...
I was driving back home last night, and all the speakers on the left side of my car suddenly stopped working. I was driving in a straight line when they stopped working, I did not hit a bump or anything, additionally there was no strange noises from them, they just stopped. After double checking to make sure I just hadn't gone deaf in one ear, I played around with the balance and determined that when I set the balance to full left, I had nothing.
On my way into work today, while sitting at a red light, the speakers came back to life, then a short time later, while sitting at another red light, it went out. any ideas on what is causing this?

Stock HK sound system with stock speakers. It's every speaker on the left side of the car failing at the same time, so I'm pretty sure it's not a speaker failing.

So it appears to have settled into a regular pattern where, when the car is cold, both channels work for 15 seconds-3 minutes, then the left channel fails and doesn't come back. If the car is already warm on startup, the left channel never plays audio, only the right. Has anyone out there had something similar?

So I replaced the amp last night, and the issue is persisting. It appears that songs with more bass trigger the failure, if I turn the radio on and its just some people talking, it seems to work for much longer compared to when I turn it on and there is music playing. The missing left channel occurs for both radio and CD playback.

It has to be the radio or the amp.
