Take it to your local BMW dealership and have them reset the OBD II or I think even autozone will clear them out

Autozone will not be equipped to reset that. Go to an Indy, or find someone local who has PA soft.

Well I have had advanced auto clear my service engine light after I replaced my fuel pump recently I just assumed since it was an airbag light that they wouldn't clear because of any liability I'll go by Tomo and see but the closest bmw dealer is a good hour drive away

What exactly is that!? I'm pretty computer savvy as my dad is an electric engineer and my brother is a computer programming major I just have no clue when it comes to ECUs in cars

www.xcar360.com $32 for BMW Scanner 1.4.0, much easier than INPA and does other things INPA does not.

yes sorry for the crude terminology. after a crash even a minor one, i know and understand the whole battery disable thing, but after that is there other "fail safes" to deter the starting of the car?

If the front airbags deploy, then the seat belt pyro tensioner(s) and pyro battery cable should blow.

Once battery cable is repaired the car should start and run, however, the airbag controller may need to be reset and have the crash data info cleared as well as the deployed airbags replaced.

the seat belt charges didnt go off just the pass front door by the pull bar and the pass side curtain at the top but neither deployed even halfway, they popped enough to come out, but didnt deploy as supposed to.

Scan it with a software that can read the specific SRS codes. Let us know what shows up.

ok sorry it took so long to get back to you guys about this, i used the b800 tool and it read as follows for the codes: 02 08 03 01 09 od oe
now, i read a pdf on what the codes mean and it is registering the pass head airbag, pass front door bag, says circuit closed 2 times and malfunction x2 and pass seat tensioner. so where do i send the controller to have it reset? and do i have to replace these after i removed the bags in order for it to start? it will crank but wont start.i tried to reset the obd2 codes, they wont reset and the srs codes will not reset either. so what now? i refuse to give up on this car, it will be fixed.
