shuddering when coming down the gears

my m3 e46 smg 2 shudders when its changing down the gears ?????

When is the last time you did the SMG reset? (above 40mph, put the car in neutral and hold both paddle shifters for approx 2-5 seconds)
At all speeds?
At high speed?
At low speed?
All downshifts experience the shudder?

Anything done to the car recently?

Seriously not enough info. But try the reset.

Explain in more detail.

I think he means when he's approaching a red light or stop sign applying the breaks when his car downshifts it lightly shudders, mine does that usually from 3rd to 2nd

It's when slowing down for stop sign car judders through every gear til it stops and a light judder when taking of again ?would it just need smg reset?

Just do the reset and see if it fixes it. It literally takes a few seconds to do so there's no reason not to try it.

If that fails is it a new clutch ?

It could be a warped flywheel, it could be numerous things.
