What Mexican restaurant is it? I'm looking for some place that serves some bomb burritos other than Chipotle.

Chipotle isn't even Mexican food. It's like American food in a tortilla.

I've been up to Roseville/Rocklin a few times, definitely not my thing. It's all flat and they keep popping up neighborhoods that all look the same and for some reason people want to live there. It's cheap I guess?

So "new money" is people who have money who didn't come from a wealthy family, and now they're stuck up or trying to show it off?

That's half of it, the other half is they generally work in generic but higher ranking positions, it's why they're so large in numbers. They also aren't rich enough to really live the rich life.



I'm going to be honest, I think what we're dealing with here are just your classic yuppies, they've been around a while, but with a recent resurgence in their population with the first of the Gen Y'ers hitting that phase.

With almost anyone else on the forum I would have read this story and called BS immediately. But, having met Griffin in real life, I am confident that this could have happened exactly as stated.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I've always defined "new money" as those who recently, through any variety of means, became extremely wealthy. These individuals tend to buy huge, gaudy homes, jewelry, flashy items, flashy cars, and flaunt their money.. they also tend to be obnoxious in that they look down upon those without money and inevitably base their self worth on dollars in their pocket.

I grew up just outside DC where you have Old Money and New Money families.. the new money people always had bigger homes, newer cars, and often had obnoxious children. Old money families carried traditional values, belonged to "old money" country clubs, and having a large bank account didn't really impact them much.. it was just the way it was and nobody was impacted by it.
