PSA: Don't brush your teeth too much

I made the mistake of brushing my teeth too much and too hard growing up. I've never had a cavity, but now I have sensitive gums due to some recession. You don't notice it until it's too late, and as far as I know you have to have surgery if it gets bad enough.

So yeah, switch to a soft bristle brush if you haven't already, and don't over brush.

Don't worry, the economy will rebound soon and you'll be all good.

I used hard bristled toothbrushes for years as well. I thought ti was the right thing to do and I have gum damage like you do.
I asked the dentist why they sell hard brushes if they were so bad and he did not have a good answer.

When I first switched to a soft bristle brush I was like... wtf is this? It's not working...

And then recently during a camping trip I only had a hard bristle with me and it felt like sandpaper in comparison. I'm not sure why they sell them either. They're good for cleaning threads on bolts...

I asked too. I think they just said "for dentures."

That happened to me My gums raised by my molars everything cold hurt like hell because of the exposed nerves. NEVER use hard toothbrushes. My dentist showed me pictures of people that actually cut through their mollars with hard toothbrushes from brushing so hard.

Happened to me too. I got surgery for it about 10 years ago, but I feel like the surgery didn't do much.
