Center console refinish/replacement options?

The center console on my daughter's 04 325i is looking pretty ratty - a lot of the paint has worn off of the armrest itself, and from the plastic hinge area on it back as well. It's light gray. Can these things be refinished, or are there any available at dismantlers? If so, does anyone have any recommendations? I imagine a new one would cost a small fortune. A repair/replacement would make a nice Christmas present, as the car is in very nice shape otherwise, and this console really downgrades the overall appearance of the car. Thanks.

You should look into Plasti Dip.
You need to clean off the original "rubberized" coating from the console, after that a light coat of plasti dip will bring it back very close to original finish.

Check out some prices from vendors you see mentioned here..ECS\realOEM, etc. They may not be as expensive as you think. I think the console itself is about $50.....cup holders $35.....M3 leather armrest is a bit pricy...But for about $200...you may be able to have mostly new, perfect stuff.

One from a diamantler will likely be a bit banged up like the one in your car.

I did this to my Pop's Denali and it turned out pretty good. That was 3 years ago and its still holding strong.
