Koni reds on coupe...yes or no?

I understand that koni yellows should be put on coupes/sport suspension cars.

My front OEM Sachs are blown and I have an offer to buy Koni reds brand new in the box for the price that is around half of those sold brand new...in the box... So, my question to suspension gurus (and everyone else), what would you do? Can I "compensate" their lower damping ability by setting it to the hardest setting? (If this is very stupid question, just tell me that. ) There are two (what I think) important notes here: first - this is not my daily driver and I don't put a lot of miles on it, so if stiffer coupe springs "kill" them prematurelly (15-20.000 miles), I'm OK with that. Second - roads and streets here are terrible and I don't know how that affects the springs-shocks equation, but I suppose it does. And last, although I'm not concerned in life of them (unless they get blown before 15.000 miles mark) I am very interested in handling/performance. I don't track my car, ever, but if I loose some handling ability (COMPARED TO OEM Sachs) by putting "softer" shocks on stiffer springs, I don't want them.

Thank you, guys....

Koni reds are meant for stock springs. I'd actually recommend them In your case.

What I understand (someone correct me if I'm wrong) "reds" should be perfect for sedan standard suspension, but since all coupes have sport suspension out of the factory, perfect match for coupes would be "yellows"...at least that is how I see it (I am not sure), hence this thread...

Koni STR.Ts? I'm running them and they're fine.

Yellows are better suited for aftermarket lowering springs which are lower and harsher than stock sport springs.
IMO reds will be perfect for stock sports suspension.

This is one time offer...guy has brand new red ones and needs money quick. It's not like I have the choice

EDIT: Oh, sorry..that was the question? No, no STR.Ts...just "regular" red ones. I think they are something like "Koni special "D" adjustable dampers".... (8740-1391R/L)

Any other opinions? What would you do given the circumstances?
