330d auto loss of gears. Help!!!
Hi. I'm a new member to this site. Hoping someone can help me please, I was driving along in my e46 330d auto tourer when I relised my revs where higher than normal for the speed I was traveling so I pulled into a car park and drove around for abit finding I was at crawling pace but revs were very high as if I was slipping the clutch I then totally lost motion so I rolled into a car space and left the car for about an hour. When I returned the gears all seemed normal. I decided to drive home but 2 miles up the road I had the same problem, total gear loss but this time a strong smell of burnt gear oil. I got recovered home and my lovely 330d is just sitting here now unusable. Can anyone help? Have a knackard the gearbox or would and oil and filter change fix this? Hope to hear from someone soon. Jammin mk

Possible that the torque converter failed. Good luck fixing the car, I'm sure others will chime in to help out.
