How do I talk someone out of getting an m3 competition as a first car..

No matter what he won't appreciate it since it is being bought for him and it's his first car. He will beat the **** out of it like anyone else does to their first car. Hope the parents are ready to spend more money on repairing it until he crashes it.

Tell him to buy it. If he crashes it it will only make the resale value of my car go up.

The solution is very simple; here's what you do:

1. Stop making threads
2. Turn on the sink (make sure the water is nice and hot)
3. Go into the medicine cabinet and grab a nice new razor blade
4. Slice into wrists, moving vertically up towards the elbow
5. Dip wrists into hot water and keep them there!
6. ?????
7. Profit

I'm 20, have owned many cars from a civic Si to a S52'd E30 and I have plenty of driving expedience, now I drive a 135i with a JB4 tune, it is putting roughly 360 hp and 375 tq to the wheels and sometimes, even with all my experience, it scares the sh!t out of me. In short M3 is wayyyy too much car for an inexperienced driver.

OP, show him the above video and then consider this. As Alex323ci noted, a dumbass driver who doesn't respect his machine can just as easily crash a geo metro as an M3, albeit the M would be much more tempting to floor/drift/whatever. The point is, drivers aren't made responsible with slower cars, they're made responsible as they respect the danger of taking a car to and beyond its limits. Your friend needs that respect, not a slower car.
