**OFFICIAL**How does your exhaust sound like?

Post a video of how your exhaust sounds??

Include specs on exhaust, if you have any headers, cats, resonator, etc work done to it please specify.

ehhhh, I guess I will start with mine so here's a quick clip from a while ago.

3" inch straight piped, dual from headers back, deleted both resonators and flow masters super 40 y-piped.

It doesn't sound as deep with the headers.. not a bad thing. It sounds amazing. I have the same setup as you except the fact we do emissions in my state

I had the setup before headers as well. It is a LOT louder with headers than without. It's deep without headers but you could barely hear the thing. Im very happy I put in my headers as I like my exhaust to be somewhat loud Until about 4,000 rpms is where my car gets a bit raspy (not nearly as much as an m3).

Someone with a stock M3 exhaust + eBay headers come in here and post a video.

Also, someone with eBay headers + straight pipes on an M3.

That'd be nice. I've always wondered how much of the rasp would be deleted with those two options...and it's something I'm considering because this car is not loud enough. I enjoy my cars the louder they are, even if they aren't fast. It may be a ricey thing, but I can't help but enjoy a car more if it's louder. Just natural for me.

Indeed, I need to do that to my M3, I'll cut the resonators off to see how raspy it will get

Thanks man. I can't tell you the countless hours I've spent looking up the perfect sounding exhaust lol. I'd like to have my car louder though.

do NOT do header to straight pipe. Theres vids on youtube, they sound sooooo raspy and disqusting. The best sounding exhaust is el diablo or gruppe M paired up with the rasp-x rasp terminator and headers!

Mine:

Sounds close to stock just louder under load.
Is a custom built system with with 2 boxes, 2 resonators, an x pipe and a modified standard manifold (no cats).

pics:

Intention was for it to look as stock as possible.

My exhaust is stock but with the baffle removed. I'll try to get a video of it and post it up soon. The baffle removal was done by the previous owner, which is supposed to make the stock exhaust note a few decibels higher. I've googled removing exhaust baffles but read some very contradictory results. While it does make the exhaust louder, apparently it also risks losing bottom end torque or something due to reduced back pressure, yet others say there was no difference in power (positive or negative). Maybe an expert who knows more can comment here about baffle removal in BMW stock exhausts?
