Best Cash Back Credit Card?

I'm looking to add a credit card to my Amex and am hoping to grab something with a nice cash back program.

Currently considering the Amazon Visa :
- 50 dollar amazon credit for signing up
- 1 point = 1 penny on Amex
- 1 point on all purchases
- 2 points on all gas, restaurants, drugstores
- 3 points on all amazon purchases

Or Chase Freedom
- 100 dollars back for spending 500 in first 3 months (would definitely happen)
- 1% back on all purchases
- 5% back on up to 1500 of purchases (comes to 75) each quarter
- 5% back on purchases from their select categories (one quarter is grocery stores, next is gas, etc)

AMex Blue Cash Everyday

Get 3% cash back at U.S. stand-alone supermarkets, 2% cash back on gasoline at U.S. stand-alone gas stations, 2% cash back at select major department stores; and 1% cash back on other purchases. Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit. The first $6,000 of purchases at U.S. stand-alone supermarkets in a calendar year qualifies for 3% cash back; 1% thereafter. Cash back is earned only on eligible purchases.1

Any other thoughts/options?

Bank of America?

Cash rewards 100$ cash back offer if you spend 500$ within the first 90 days

1% on anything
2% on groceries
3% on gas

Plus earn an extra 10% bonus when you redeem said rewards into a bank of America checking or savings account

0% interest for the first year

I get the following on my AMEX

$0 - $6,500 spent:
0.5% Everywhere
1.0% Gas, Grocery, & Drugstore

$6,500+ spent:
1.0% Everywhere
5.0% Gas, Grocery, & Drugstore

No annual fee. Dollar spent resets once a year.

Freedom is good except when the categories suck (current quarter). Take a look at US Bank cash plus card. You can pick any two 5% categories, one 2%, 1% everything else, $25 bonus for each $100 you redeem.

The citi Forward card is 5 points on Amazon which can be redeemed for 1:1 Student Loan Rebates (my checking account).

I have amex blue, chase freedom and discover. I just rotate and use whichever is giving out the most cashback that quarter. If you want to open a chase freedom, wait until they have a new account promo where they give you over $300 for signing up.

Me and the wife just got the Amex Preferred ($75 annual fee). We got that one for the 6% back at supermarkets. Remember, you can buy many, many different types of gift cards at supermarkets (Amazon, ebay, lowes, home depot, macy's...etc). Plus 3% back at gas stations. We save way more than the $75 fee. Granted, the 6% is capped at $6000 per year...but that's cool with us. We have our BOA cash back card too to cover us on the other end.

Plus we got $150 instantly after the first $1500 and we got our first year of fees waived. Hehe...score.

http://www304.americanexpress.com/ge...Cash-Preferred

Combine 6% savings on gift cards + ebates.com and you can save 10% off the top end not including any store coupons or otherwise!

Clever workaround (buying gift cards at supermarket)

My Ride: has twin turbos
The Amex True Earning card from Costco is also pretty decent for cash back:
-3% on gas
-2% on travel and restaurants
-1% on anything else
-no fee

My girl kicks ass with cash back on her Capital One card. She's always receiving $100 cash cards in the mail. I don't know the specifics though.

I use the Capital One Cash Rewards. 1.5% cash back on all purchases.
My wife has a Chase Freedom which does 1% + the rotating categories for 5% cash back. Between the two it puts a fair bit of money back in our pocket.

Same here, just that I have cash back reward as a credit back against my balance.

If was getting things in the mail, it would more then likely not be on the critical path of my normal spending habits.

I have the Amazon Visa, which is really great if you shop Amazon a lot.
And I have an Amex, too. But I use it more for the points towards trips and travels (and for the other benefits it has).

Which specific Amex?

Fidelity Investment Rewards Amex hands down. 2% flat cash back redeemed to your Fidelity account. No limits or restrictions. Only catch is you need a Fidelity account.

I have Amex Gold and it isn't very good. I prefer Capital One for air miles and Chase Sapphire for everything else.
