Yes, it's not bad but its texture is like sand. It'll give you a mild high

I wrestled in highschool and a handful of us would use kava kava liquid for the inevitable post-tournament pains.

It sounds like it could be good for putting me to sleep. I think I'm going to buy some root and try the tea.

It acted like a pretty decent sedative from what I remember.

Yes...I do think I hate you

i have a dried bag of it, it's not bad, not great as it numbs the mouth, gives a little buzz.. dried one isn't as good as fresh which is a lot better.
to prepare, I put it in a tight weave cloth, bound up and let it soak in a little warm water which after it soaks as much up I squeeze the rehydrated juice back into the same bowl. getting the right ratio of water is tough as you want to get as much juice out of the kava as possible.

I've read you can chew it, amazon sells it in gels, and I've seen concentrated pastes too. The root itself is really cheap ($20 for 1/4lb) so I'm wondering which route would give the best results.

Did a kava ceremony in Fiji which involved only a sip of the stuff. Tiny bit of tongue tingle from it. Tastes nasty, looks like a bowl of dirty water, smells like yuck.
Later in the week, did a sit down with some locals and had more than a few sips of the stuff. All I got from it was a numb tongue and a little bit of dizziness. Never really felt drunk or anything from it. Having said that though, I'm not much of an alcohol user anymore because one of it's earliest effects on me is the spins. I hate that, so I drink pretty moderately. So I may not be the best example to use for predicting the effects of mind altering substances.

tbh I think pancakes are overrated because they don't have the absorption capacity of waffles because of the larger ducting canals created by the waffle iron, so it's like why would i have flat pancakes that are less technologically advanced compared to something like a waffle that's essentially the same thing but designed for the task a bit better so yea i'm a big fan of waffles and not so much pancakes and i'm not sure why you lowered you standard to something like pancakes instead of waffles maybe it's just the name itself but as far as human progression waffles show innovation and not pancakes.

the larger surface area of the waffles make them cool faster < PANCAKES

I bought a jar of it straight from a kava farm in Hawaii a couple of years ago. I still probably have some left although I don't know about the shelf life. The taste is absolutely horrible, but the tingle is pretty cool. Id recommend trying a tea, as it is probably easier to take down like a shot, rather than try to scarf that stuff down. What I did to eat it was coat small pieces in peanut butter and try to swallow them whole. The effects are pretty legit. Body feels really relaxed, and your mind is calm. It definitely helped me go to sleep at night.
Bottom line I'd recommend trying it. |

Waffles are far more structurally sound than pancakes.

I'll stick to my Denver omelet. Both those breakfast options leave me sleepy and feeling a bit bloated...don't feel the energy benefits I enjoy from larger breakfast meals on the weekend.
