Do I have the most fuel efficient e46?

Just kidding, but really getting great gas mileage with my e46. 2003 325i ZSP with 33k. Always fill her up with 93. Stock engine.

Filled her up with a full tank and have gone 300+ miles on less than 3/4 of a tank. I'm on pace for roughly 420 miles on a single tank (half highway, half city driving). How does this compare to the rest of the e46's? Average?

Here's the truth depending how many stoplight's, hills, idle time etc this all contributes to MPG. No one is exactly the same thus this thread is worthless IMHO.

Not my average, but my record.
Cruising the highway I was at 510 on a tank with a theoretical 550 possible.
Chickened out because I did not want to run my pump dry.

Man...how are you guys getting that awesome MPG...I have a '02 325ci and I think I'm getting crappy MPG...about 20 MPG...it really sucks...makes me miss my civic's MPG are around 35+ MPG...I do have about 115k miles on the odometer on my 325ci though ...maybe that's the problem (just older but the drive really conservative...what u guys think?

The 91 gas price in Toronto is now about $1.50/liter. That's $5.7/gallon.
Some of us may have to considering our future motoring options, keep e46 or sell and buy used TDI/prius.
Needless to say, life is getting worse.

With fuel costs rising and estimated to reach $5 a gallon this summer, it is absolutely relevant to have this discussion every once in a while, especially with aging cars. Threads 1, 2, or 3+ years old aren't really relevant anymore ya know

PS. Chill out

hahaha what dude im not even talkin about a year or 2 ago old threads about this. There was 1 yesterday or the day before and another like a week ago.
We all know gas prices are high and still rising but if you search you'll find plenty of info on what you can do to improve your mpg to what it should be as well as see what other's mpg figures with each model.

I don't need to chill out I am simply stating a fact that these are over kill. But hey at least its not another intake mod

Huh? This thread isn't even about improving gas mileage - I'm interested in what everyone else is getting in their 7-10 year old cars.

The 2 conversations are completely different, even if they share the same subject.

If you're curious to know what other peoples gas milage is, like I said there are more threads on that. I'm not trying to be rude I have just seen a lot of these, thats all. And along with searching you will find if you're mpg is low that you can do some maintenance to improve it to what it should be. Try cleaning you're maf sensor, I recently did this and found a good difference in mpg, that is of course if you think you can get better mpg than what you currently are getting and feel something may be wrong.

I thought this was about sledding.

I got 25.5 mpg last tank and 22.5 this tank; this is because I went different places and did different things w/ the car.
