My Ride: 2001 330Ci
Digital Numeric Oil Pressure & Temp Gauges

I've decided to add oil pressure and temperature gauges to my 330Ci. My research didn't come up with any satisfactory solutions as I don't want:
- Gauge pods
- Analog dials
- Digital readouts in round enclosures
- Substantial changes to the dashboard

Here's what I came up with:
1. 7-segment LED modules (Lumex LDS-SMHTA5604RISIT) (3 per readout)
2. LED controller/driver (several candidates; Intersil ICM7228; Maxim Integrated Products MAX7219CNG+ and others)
3. Analog to digital converter (Maxim Integrated Products MAX6691MUB+; others)
4. Sensors

Where will I put the LED readouts? In the gap between the center HVAC grills and the top of the head unit! Yes, the trim (aluminum in my case) will require cutting and fitting. But, it's plastic (easy to cut and fit) and it's not too expensive (in case of a screw up!).

Here's the problem: While I've ordered the LED's (Lumex LDS-SMHTA5604RISIT), I need assistance from others on:
- Overall block level design - what components are needed, etc. (I have a good idea but....)
- Selection of the IC's
- Identification of DC to DC converter(s) for the system's DC voltages
- etc.

Interested? Your help is appreciated.
