is it a direct replacement to install m3 pads rotors and calipers on my 330ci to save money with out having to buy big brake kit or is there additional parts or custom work involved

Carriers will have to be milled for the front. Rears will be more complicated. Search, there are threads on this.

Uh no. Why would BMW upgrade the power on the M3 and leave the brakes the same as a 330.

you do realize the M3 and 330 both have 325mm front rotors, right? the 330 brakes are more than fine. you don't need to "upgrade"

seems like my best bet is to just stick with my 330ci setup and get brembo big brake system. looks like i wont save any money

They're not. Rotors are about the same size (M3 rear rotors are a little bit bigger, but also thinner), but the hydraulics aren't really the same. IIRC the M3 calipers have bigger pistons, and the M3 has a bigger master cylinder too. This is probably mostly the pads, but the M3 brakes have noticeably more bite. And unlike the 330 brakes, they're not death traps in the rain.

bigg brakes
Check a friend's website for machined carriers and Porsche big calipers.
Less expensive than others and excellent performance. RallyRoad.com

Can't say I've ever run into that problem with my 330i.
